A meeting place to think together about the main challenges in education

We have concluded this first International Congress on Educational Assessment, two intense days in which we brought together nearly 1,000 education professionals from eight countries. Teachers, school leadership teams, researchers, policymakers, and university students have all contributed to making this congress a valuable forum for reflecting together on the main challenges facing education.

Throughout these days, we have been able to hear and compare highly relevant contributions on issues that are currently at the heart of the educational debate, such as assessment for learning, school leadership, teacher training, inclusion, language assessment, and the challenges posed by artificial intelligence.

From the Basque Government's Department of Education, we want to continue moving in this direction. We are working to improve student learning, strengthen the quality and equity of the education system, and provide better responses to the real needs of schools. To achieve this, it is essential to rely on knowledge, rigorous analysis of reality, and well-oriented public policies capable of translating evidence into concrete improvements.

Thank you for your contribution to this first international congress and for your daily commitment to educational improvement.

In the coming days, we will publish congress materials—presentations, videos, and photographs—on the website
